The probability of a possible relationship between Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) and Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) went high as Barry, also known as "The Flash," accidentally landed in Kara's world in "Supergirl" season 1.
Now that it's official that "Supergirl" will be flying to The CW for its season 2 and the network's president Mark Pedowitz confirmed December's DC superheroes massive mash-up, the said probability went even higher.
In an interview with DC All Access Grant said, "We had a really fun dynamic and I bet next year, there's probably more crossovers than we've ever had." He added, "They'll be a good match."
As for his show, "The Flash," he hinted about a new enemy that he'll go up against. "I've heard whispers that we might have a big bad that isn't a meta-human," Gustin said.
If "Supergirl" and "The Flash" would fall in love with each other, it will be the first time that two characters from different TV shows end up together. During season 2 of "Arrow," Barry fell in love with Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), but it did not last long as Barry had to go back to Central City.
These two superheroes would make a cute couple, there's no doubt about it, but Benoist thinks otherwise.
"I don't know that they'd ever get together; I think they're too similar," Benoist said. "I think they'd like pig out on.. I think they're pals, pigging out on ice cream," she added.
Moreover, both Kara and Barry have their own love interests in their own worlds. Kara's in love with James Olsen (Mehcad Brooks), and Barry with Iris West (Candice Patton).
Whether they end up together or not, it is certain that fans will be seeing more of them together on screen in season 2 of "Supergirl" and season 3 of "The Flash."
Meanwhile, season 2 of "Supergirl" will tackle more on Kara's love life especially when last season's finale ended when Kara and James kissed, officially making them a couple. Kara's cousin, Clark Kent is also rumored to make an appearance.
"Supergirl" season 2 and "The Flash" season 3 will return this fall on The CW.
