After the success of "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," fans are already turning their heads towards the upcoming "Star Wars: Episode 8" movie. It is the sequel for "Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens," and it will pick up directly after its events.
According to the Inquisitr, it is possible that at least one aspect of the new movie will revolve around Luke Skywalker's (played by Mark Hamill) discovery by Rey (played by Daisy Ridley). However, the latter being the Padawan of the former will come with a twist.
Rey will have a set of unique challenges before she even begins her Jedi lessons, as Luke and Rey's meeting on Ach-To will not go as smoothly as people will expect. Similar to Luke's meeting with Yoda back in "The Empire Strikes Back," Rey should prove her capabilities first before completing her mission.
On a similar note, "Episode 8" will introduce a new species of aliens similar to that of Ewoks. However, instead of mammal-based lifeforms, it will be the puffins, pelagic seabirds that share a semblance with the 80's Furby toy. This results in a fierce yet adorable society of lifeforms that do not take kindly to visitors in the planet.
Additionally, the creatures, while still unnamed, are rumored to be just 15 inches tall, but they are fierce protectors of their island from outsiders. As such, upon Rey's arrival, she will be forced to deal with them and prove herself.
Also, according to BGR, the reason behind Luke's apparent stay on the island is that the natives see him as a peculiar sort of protector. However, it seems that the trial Rey will have to go through will include fighting a large sea monster, and once she prevails, she will win over the puffins.
"Star Wars: Episode 8" will be shown in theaters on Dec. 15, 2017.
