'Star Wars Battlefront 2' news: Conquest game mode will not be added, as per DICE

"Star Wars Battlefront 2" has been confirmed to forego the Conquest game mode. This is according to DICE associate design director Dennis Brannvall.

According to Game Rant, after the second installation of the "Star Wars Battlefront" was greenlit, fans were certainly glad that they are able to combat each other once more within the "Star Wars" universe. A lot of fans have already put their wishlists, and one of them is Conquest Mode.

The game mode basically pits players against each other to capture and hold strategic points across the map. However, while it was not featured in the first "Star Wars Battlefront" game, fans are still looking forward to it once the 2017 game is released.

Unfortuantely for them, DICE associate design director Dennis Brannvall said that the development team will not go that far into other franchises. Of course, while they could use some knowledge from "Battlefield," it does not mean that they will adapt the Conquest mode for "Battlefront" as well.

The disappointment for fans is certainly understandable, but DICE still aims to make good with its fan base. After all, "Star Wars Battlefront" has introduced the Supremacy mode, and they intend to make several tweaks to improve the mode's formula.

It seems that the primary reason why the Conquest Mode will not be added is the vast approval of the players for the Supremacy mode. Also, it is possible that DICE does not want much overlap between its franchises, even if "Battlefield 1" is currently enjoying a pretty good reputation.

Also, according to Mobile & Apps, EA does not want fans to start comparing "Battlefield 1" and "Star Wars Battlefront 2." However, fans are still thinking that the Conquest should be a "Battlefront" original, and taking it away will limit the fun in the new EA game.
