Though the release of "Jane the Virgin" season 3 is still a couple of months away, teasers for what is to come in the upcoming season have been revealed.
Season 2 ended with a cliffhanger that left fans curious about what is in store for Jane Villanueva, played by Gina Rodriguez. With that, many are looking forward to season 3 of The CW series. Rodriguez was able to share some updates on what is happening for season 3.
According to Wet Paint, Rodriguez revealed that they have yet to start on production for the new season. Though filming isn't expected to start until mid-August, the actress was already able to give a few hints about what will happen.
Rodriguez assured viewers that they will still get to see her fiancé, Michael (Brett Dier). However, she did not disclose what state he will be in, as he was shot in the final episode of season 3. With that, fans are hoping that Michael will be okay since it was teased that Jane will finally lose her virginity this year.
With that, many are hoping to that she will end up doing it for the first time with Michael. Rodriguez stated, "[Showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman] has teased that Jane is losing her virginity in Season 3, so I think it's safe to say, if Jennie says it, it's probably true."
However, there were previous speculations stating that the upcoming season could present new love interests for Jane. With that, things are expected to become more complicated with regard to her love life. In addition, a lot of the other characters are expected to have their own interesting storylines for the next season.
According to Vulture, Urman stated, "We have Petra [Yael Grobglas] right now who is frozen, and her sister is going to start executing her plan. I can't really say that much about Jane because it all depends on what happens to Michael. But you'll definitely know very early on in the third season. There are some fun structural things I want to do next year, but I can't really say that. I feel like we have a big sandbox to play in because we have characters that we all know and understand, and we have the world of magical realism. With that, we can go anywhere."
"Jane the Virgin" season 3 is expected to return this October.
